Growing up I was the parrot at home, I could talk for Africa lol... that led to my Dad calling me "The Law"
I acted wiser than my age and smarter than regular kids. I grew up with the idea of reading law just because people around me said I acted like a small lawyer in court. They weren't far from the truth, because back then I could argue so bad I won't rest until I have seen you given up. Growing up I was the parrot at home, I could talk for Africa lol... that led to my Dad calling me "The Law"
At age 14 plus when I finished secondary school, it was time for jamb and as usual my Dad was against it saying I was small and yes I was in size lol.. He was scared I was too young so he instead I write only polytechnic exams and go to poly for 2years by then I would be age16. Then I can get a direct entry to the university. Trust mumsy na. .she went behind my Dad's back and bought me my Jamb form.
In order to make my Dad happy, I filled in Law as the course to read. Really, I never wanted to be lawyer. I had to juggle between school and after school lesson. After school closes by 2pm, I would quickly get home by 2.30pm or their about, shower and head for adult jamb class which was for 4pm and closes by 8.30pm.
I could Remember my Dad saying my dear if you fail this jamb after coming home by 9pm everyday, pack your bag and go sleep in that school.lolol.... That was his way of saying you better not disappoint me.

Faster forward to 2016. Did I finally read law?
No! and boy am glad I dint. So here am I reliving my Dad's dream in this look. All dressed up like a lawyer but with a twist. Mehn I had to put a bit of me in the look common! Take a minute an imagine the law firm that will hire me with that hat *raised eyebrows*
For this look am wearing my husbands hat, a body hug long sleeve tee, a black body con dress with colar. A suede black shoe and a grey hand bag..I also added pearl necklace. This can be worn to work without the hat on. I hope you like? let's play guess a Lil game. Whoever that answers correctly and tell me the course I later read in school will get a gift from me. So its fastest fingers first. Thank you for visiting... Instagram handle is @buitii

I'm glad you were able to live your own dream. I love the outfit. I would totally hire you if I had a law firm. Kiss the baby for me!

ReplyDeleteI loved this look immediately I saw it. Beautiful. I wish I had your courage... My dad wanted me to study economics by all means and trust me math wasn't my thing; even secondary school economics wasn't my thing. I preferred writing and reading but here I am studying economics and I dread it every single day. Last Christmas he was like "if we knew, we would have let you studied something you liked" in my head I was like you're just knowing abi? Lol. I'm glad I came across your blog; I love it
